Therapists at CarePoint utilize systems theory when working with families. In this model, the family itself is examined to identify areas of potential disorder. Though therapy may focus on one person from time to time, this is geared towards understanding individual parts of the system, and ultimately brings greater health and effectiveness to the overall functioning of the family. Communication styles, interaction patterns, and family member roles are all explored in order to reinforce strengths of the family as well as to challenge unhealthy patterns.
